@aral leadership and hierarchy are distinct from each other. Hierarchy in the 21st Century often shows a serious lack of leadership.
When you're de facto in a leadership position, because of notoriety, not assuming it can be detrimental. A community leader does not necessarily sit on top of a hierarchy.
@how If we’re going to flatten the power structures that means we have to forgo power when offered and design the sorts of systems where power is distributed as equally as possible.
